Through HypnoBirthing, I learned to trust my body, protect my baby, and to stand up for what is best for my family. I went into my birth with confidence. My husband, my baby and I were surrounded by love and inspiration despite what was going on around us. I was induced due to gestational hypertension and I spent nearly 3 days advocating for myself to ensure the induction was successful, even though my body wasn't quite ready.  I can’t really remember ever feeling any pain. I feel like I stayed in a constant state of relaxation, even while working through surges and the side effects of the Pitocin. When the first doctor started pushing for me to have my water broken, I utilized the relaxation techniques and relied on my baby and me to work as a team. I cheered him on and communicated with him. I encouraged him to do his part and promised him I’d do mine. I truly feel like I walked away with a beautiful experience instead of walking away regretful and wishing it would have gone differently.

I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to put a fear of birthing to rest, for anyone looking for a boost in confidence surrounding your birth, and most importantly to learn the various relaxation techniques and skills necessary to bring your baby into a peaceful, relaxed, nurturing world.

My husband and I really wanted a natural birth when we found out we were pregnant with our first child. We just had no idea how to achieve this, and honestly, I had no confidence that I could do it. We tried other routes, but with each OBGYN, we did not have a good experience, until we finally visited and met with the midwives at the Galveston Birth Center. So we decided to go with them, and they recommended Jolene to us for the hypnobirthing child birthing class. We are so grateful that they did. We cannot imagine having any other instructor in our lives to help prepare and equip us with the confidence and tools for a natural and empowering birthing experience. Jolene was incredibly knowledgeable and provided and taught us all of the information we needed for our birthing experience. There were many favorites, but our absolute favorite thing she taught us were tools and ways that my husband could be involved actively during birth. I feel like most courses don’t present hands on tools for ways birth partners can be involved, so they want to help, but don’t really know how. Jolene will teach you and your birth partner how to both be involved and work together.

She introduced us to the acronym, BRAINS, and oddly enough my husband and I still to this day use this in deciding all of our major or minor life decisions. It’s such a handy tool that helped us during labor and continues to help us strengthen our communication and decision making in our everyday life. I say that to say, Jolene won’t just prepare you for birth, but even for the days after. The second most helpful tool for us was the fear release that she walks and guides you through. If you have any fear with birth, then this is the course for you, and Jolene is hands down the best instructor to teach and equip you and your partner. After going through her course, I can confidently say that my husband and I felt so incredibly equipped with birthing our first child naturally and were able to accomplish how we wanted to bring our child into this world. I am so incredibly thankful that Jolene gave me this knowledge and release of fear related to birthing, so I could birth peacefully and confidently. What an amazing gift and experience she gave to me and our family. We will treasure our birth experience and story forever. It was unbelievably perfect, and I didn’t even believe that could be possible, but Jolene helped us to achieve that. She is patient, knowledgeable, informative, understanding, supportive, encouraging, and empowering and just a phenomenal instructor. You will be so glad that you and your birth partner chose her. I cannot recommend her enough. We are now pregnant with our second, and still have the confidence and freedom from fear that Jolene taught us for our second birth experience.
